iCIMS Alternatives and iCIMS Competitors With Published Prices for US Employers

Hiring for a fully-remote role while you weigh this up? Post it here for $199 a month, salary range shown, employer verified by hand, read by an audience that wants nothing but remote work.

The cheapest iCIMS alternatives are the applicant tracking systems that publish a price: JazzHR from $1,000 a year, Breezy HR from $157 a month billed yearly, BambooHR Core at a flat $250 a month up to 25 employees, Workable Standard at $299 a month billed yearly and Ashby Foundations from $300 a month. For a company under about 200 people, each of them costs less than iCIMS in year one, largely because iCIMS implementation alone runs $15,000 to $25,000. Greenhouse and Lever are the main mid-market alternatives, and like iCIMS they quote every customer.

Most lists of iCIMS alternatives are written by the alternatives themselves, so every one of them ranks its author first. This one sorts the options by the thing a buyer usually wants to know before a demo: can you see the price, and what does the first year come to. Every published figure below was read on the vendor's own pricing page in October 2026, and the quote-only ones are labelled as buyer-reported.

iCIMS alternatives compared on price

Six of the nine alternatives publish a full price and SmartRecruiters publishes its entry plan. Greenhouse and Lever, like iCIMS itself, quote every customer, and for those the public numbers are buyer-reported medians from Vendr.

Read the medians with care. A median describes the customers a vendor already has, and iCIMS sells to a wider range of company sizes than Greenhouse does, which is one reason its median sits lower. Our iCIMS pricing page explains where each iCIMS figure comes from and why the $20,781 average most guides quote is built on about five deals.

What a 60-person company pays in year one

For a 60-person US company, iCIMS comes to roughly $19,300 to $21,500 in the first year once a low-end implementation fee is added. Ashby Foundations for 51 to 75 employees costs $7,560 billed yearly, and JazzHR Plus $3,480.

Option for 60 employeesSoftware, year oneSetupYear-one total
iCIMS at $6 per employee a month$4,320About $15,000About $19,320
iCIMS at $9 per employee a month$6,480About $15,000About $21,480
Ashby Foundations, 51 to 75 employees, billed yearly$7,560Self-serve$7,560
JazzHR Plus, billed yearly$3,480Self-serve$3,480
Breezy HR Startup, billed yearly$1,884Self-serve$1,884

The iCIMS rows use third-party per-employee estimates and the bottom of the implementation range buyers report, so they are a floor, not a quote. Even so, the setup fee is the line that decides it. At this size iCIMS software can cost less than Ashby, and the first year still costs about two and a half times as much.

iCIMS alternatives for companies under 100 employees

Ashby, Workable and JazzHR are the strongest fits under 100 employees, because all three publish prices, start the same week and leave out the enterprise configuration a small team pays for and never uses.

Ashby suits a startup that wants reporting and scheduling in one place; its Foundations price moves in bands from $300 a month for 1 to 10 employees to $900 for 76 to 100, with 10% off for a yearly commitment, and our Ashby pricing page shows what that plan leaves out. Workable suits a team that wants its jobs pushed to a wide set of boards and some sourcing built in, from $299 a month billed yearly. JazzHR is the budget pick at $1,000 a year on Hero, and our JazzHR pricing page covers the posting limits that come with that price. Breezy HR, at $157 a month billed yearly on Startup with unlimited active positions, is the cheapest published option here.

If you have no HR system at all, BambooHR Core at a flat $250 a month up to 25 employees buys employee records, time off and onboarding with an applicant tracking system for five open jobs. That cap is the catch, and our BambooHR pricing page works out what each open-job slot costs.

iCIMS alternatives for mid-market and enterprise hiring

Greenhouse, Lever, SmartRecruiters and Workday Recruiting are the alternatives a larger employer usually shortlists. All four are sold through a sales process, and only SmartRecruiters publishes an entry price.

Greenhouse is the standard choice for structured interviewing with scorecards and a large integration marketplace; buyers report a median near $27,000 a year, and our Greenhouse pricing page covers the Core, Plus and Pro plans it renamed in 2026. Lever combines applicant tracking with a recruiting CRM, at a buyer-reported median of $15,400 a year, and belongs to the same parent company as JazzHR and Jobvite. SmartRecruiters, now owned by SAP, publishes Essential from $14,995, and our SmartRecruiters pricing page covers what the quoted plans add. Workday Recruiting makes sense mainly for companies already running Workday HCM, where it is priced as part of that contract.

If most of your open requisitions are engineering roles, the applicant tracking system matters less than how candidates are screened. A dedicated platform for hiring developers by tested skill can sit in front of any of these systems and pass along only the people who cleared the technical bar.

What switching from iCIMS costs

The cost of leaving iCIMS is mostly timing. iCIMS agreements are annual or multi-year with automatic renewal, so the notice date decides whether you pay for another full year, and a month of overlap while the new system goes live is normal.

Three things to do before you sign with an alternative. Find the renewal notice period in your iCIMS order form and put it in the calendar. Ask iCIMS what format the candidate and requisition export comes in, since the new vendor's migration quote depends on it. And ask the new vendor whether migration is in the setup fee or billed separately. For a published-price tool the setup is usually self-serve; for Greenhouse or Lever, budget implementation the same way you would have for iCIMS.

Is iCIMS worth paying for over a cheaper ATS?

iCIMS is worth paying for when you have roughly 1,000 or more employees, hire at high volume across locations, or need separate configurable workflows for hourly and salaried roles. Below about 200 employees, a published-price alternative usually does the same hiring job for a fraction of the first-year cost.

The honest case for iCIMS is scale and control. A recruiting operations team that runs several hundred requisitions a year, reports on compliance and connects hiring to an enterprise HR suite gets real value from that configurability. A team that hires a few dozen people a year mostly pays for features nobody switches on.

Filling whichever system you choose with remote applicants

None of these tools brings applicants by itself; each one tracks the people your job posts attract. For fully-remote roles, a listing on our board costs $199 a month for one live role, or $99 a month billed yearly, reaches readers who only want remote work and shows the salary range the pay transparency states require. On our Enterprise plan, applicants are created automatically as candidates in Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby, three of the alternatives above. Start from how to hire remote employees or compare our plans.

Quick answers

What is the best alternative to iCIMS?

For a company under about 100 employees, Ashby, Workable or JazzHR, because all three publish prices and run without a long implementation. For a mid-market team that wants structured hiring, Greenhouse or Lever. For an enterprise already on SAP or Workday, SmartRecruiters or Workday Recruiting.

Is there a cheaper alternative to iCIMS?

Yes. JazzHR starts at $1,000 a year on Hero billed annually, Breezy HR Startup at $157 a month billed yearly and BambooHR Core at a flat $250 a month up to 25 employees. Buyer data puts the median iCIMS contract at $9,771 a year before implementation of $15,000 to $25,000.

Who are the main competitors of iCIMS?

The applicant tracking systems most often shortlisted against iCIMS are Greenhouse, Lever, SmartRecruiters, Workday Recruiting, Jobvite and SAP SuccessFactors at the enterprise end, and Workable, Ashby, JazzHR and Breezy HR for smaller teams.

Is Greenhouse better than iCIMS?

Greenhouse is the usual pick for mid-market teams that run structured interviews with scorecards, and iCIMS for large, high-volume employers that need configurable workflows. Neither publishes prices; buyer data puts the Greenhouse median near $27,000 a year and iCIMS at $9,771, so compare quotes at your headcount.

How long does it take to switch from iCIMS?

A published-price tool such as Workable or Ashby can be running in days, while a move to another enterprise system is a project of weeks to months. Plan around your iCIMS renewal notice date, export candidate data before the term ends and budget for one month of overlap.
