Hireology vs Indeed Pricing at One, Five and Ten Locations and Which One You Actually Need

Hiring for a fully-remote role while you weigh this up? Post it here for $199 a month, salary range shown, employer verified, read by an audience that wants nothing but remote work.

Hireology and Indeed are not alternatives to each other. Hireology is the applicant tracking system that runs hiring across your locations and sends every job to Indeed; Indeed is the job board where most of those applicants come from. Choosing Hireology adds a subscription of about $249 a month (per account or per location, depending on the source) on top of the Indeed sponsorship you would pay anyway. The real decision is whether your locations hire enough to need the system, and that is a question of how many sites you run and how often they hire.

This comparison prices both at one, five and ten locations. Hireology publishes no prices, so its figures are third-party and labelled that way; Indeed's are from its employer help pages. Every derived number below was computed before it was written, and the full Hireology breakdown is on our Hireology pricing page.

Hireology vs Indeed pricing side by side

The two charge for different things. Indeed charges for visibility, per job and per click or application. Hireology charges a subscription for the software that manages applicants once they arrive, and it does not include the visibility.

What Hireology and Indeed cost at one, five and ten locations

With one open role per location each month, Indeed alone costs $0 at one location, $300 at five and $1,050 at ten at the minimums. Hireology plus Indeed sponsorship costs $399 at one location and $1,749 to $11,490 at ten, depending on how Hireology prices you and which Indeed floor applies to your jobs.

1$0$399$399$1,149
5$300$999$1,995$5,745
10$1,050$1,749$3,990$11,490

Monthly figures. Indeed alone assumes the first three roles go up as free direct posts and the rest are sponsored at the $5 a day minimum. The Hireology columns assume every role is sponsored, because jobs arriving on Indeed from an integrated ATS now have to be (next section). The $750 column uses the $25 a day per role floor that third parties report for campaign and ATS-fed posting, which Indeed's own pages do not confirm, so treat it as the cautious upper case.

At ten locations the gap between Indeed alone and the middle Hireology column is $2,940 a month, or $35,280 a year. That is the price of the software, and it is only worth paying if it saves more than that in manager time, faster fills or fewer bad hires.

Why buying Hireology can raise your Indeed bill

Indeed's single-source feed policy, effective 31 March 2026, makes jobs that arrive from an applicant tracking system with an Indeed integration visible only when they are sponsored. Hireology sends jobs to Indeed through exactly that kind of integration, so the free organic listing a store could get by posting directly does not apply to the same job sent through Hireology.

An owner who posts three jobs a month by hand on Indeed pays nothing for them. The same owner who moves to Hireology and lets it push every opening to Indeed now needs a sponsorship budget for each one. Glassdoor inherits its listings from Indeed, so it goes too. Nobody sends an invoice explaining this, because the old line was zero. The details of both floors are on our Indeed job posting cost page.

None of this makes Hireology a bad buy. It means the Hireology quote is never the whole cost, and a budget that compares "Hireology at $249" with "Indeed at $0" is comparing the wrong pair.

What Hireology does that Indeed does not

Hireology gives every location its own career page and pipeline while the group sees all of them on one dashboard, and it adds texting, interview scheduling, onboarding and background checks around the applicant. Indeed's employer dashboard handles one company's job list and applicants well, but it has no notion of a store, a rooftop or a clinic.

That location layer is the reason dealer groups, home services companies and healthcare networks buy it. A general manager at one dealership sees only their candidates, the group HR lead sees everything, and reports compare stores. The Perform plan adds AI Candidate Summary and AI Match, and the AI Interview add-on runs a 24/7 voice screen, with a reported $3 per interview overage above the plan's monthly cap. If the bottleneck is screening and booking a flood of hourly applicants, a dedicated tool that can screen applicants and book interviews automatically is worth pricing against that add-on before you move up a plan.

What Indeed does that Hireology does not

Indeed brings the applicants. It is the largest general job board in the US, and for hourly roles near a physical location it is usually where most applications come from. Hireology distributes to Indeed and other boards; it does not have an audience of its own.

Indeed also lets a small employer start for nothing. Three free direct posts a calendar month, visible for 30 days, cover a single store that hires a few people a quarter. Reopening an expired free post needs sponsorship, which is the point at which most owners first pay.

Which one you need

Use Indeed alone if you run one to three locations, fill a few roles a month and one person does the hiring. Add Hireology once you run several locations that hire every month, need store-level pipelines with group oversight, and lose candidates because nobody texts them back fast enough.

  • One location, low volume. Indeed alone. If you want a real applicant tracker, a flat-price one such as JazzHR at $1,000 a year costs a third of Hireology's entry figure.
  • Three to ten locations, steady hourly hiring. Hireology plus a sponsorship budget per open role. Get the pricing unit written on the quote, because at ten locations the per-location reading is ten times the flat one.
  • Twenty locations and up. Hireology or a comparable multi-location system, with the volume discount Noon AI says starts around 20 sites. Price it per hire, not per month.

Remote roles do not belong on a store's Indeed budget

Many multi-location operators also hire people who never set foot in a store: a central BDC for a dealer group, dispatchers and schedulers for a home services company, billing and intake for a healthcare network. Those roles compete for candidates nationally, and sponsoring them on Indeed against every local listing is an expensive way to reach people who filter for remote work.

A listing on our board costs $199 a month for one live remote role, or $99 a month billed yearly, and reaches readers who only want fully-remote jobs. Applications come to you directly, so you can add the people you want to Hireology by hand. For the wider picture of what each channel charges, see our cost to post a job comparison.

Quick answers

Does Hireology replace Indeed?

No. Hireology is an applicant tracking system that sends your jobs to Indeed and other boards; Indeed is the board candidates search. Most Hireology customers still pay Indeed to sponsor jobs, and that spend is billed by Indeed on top of the Hireology subscription.

Is Hireology more expensive than Indeed?

Yes, because you pay for both. At ten locations with one sponsored role each, Indeed alone costs about $1,050 a month at the minimums, while Hireology plus the same Indeed sponsorship runs about $1,749 to $11,490 a month depending on the pricing unit and the Indeed floor that applies.

Can I sponsor Indeed jobs from Hireology?

Yes. Hireology is an Indeed Gold ATS Partner with an XML feed and a Sponsored Jobs integration, so you can set sponsorship from inside Hireology. The budget is still Indeed spend, and since 31 March 2026 jobs arriving from an integrated ATS are visible on Indeed only when sponsored.

When is Indeed alone enough?

When you have one to three locations, fill a few roles a month and one person handles hiring. Indeed's three free direct posts a month, its built-in applicant list and $5 a day sponsorship cover that without a second subscription.

What is cheaper than Hireology for one location?

Flat-price applicant tracking systems. JazzHR Hero is $1,000 a year and Breezy HR Startup is $157 a month billed yearly, against about $2,988 a year for Hireology at the reported $249 a month entry figure.
