Paradox AI Alternatives With Published Prices and Which Ones Fit Multi-Location Hiring

Hiring for a fully-remote role while you weigh this up? Post it here for $199 a month, salary range shown, employer verified, read by an audience that wants nothing but remote work.

The cheapest Paradox AI alternatives with published prices are Breezy HR (from $157 a month billed yearly), JazzHR (from $1,000 a year), Workable (from $299 a month billed yearly) and Spark Hire (from $335 a month on an annual contract). Paradox itself quotes every deal, and buyers report $30,000 to $80,000 a year for mid-market deployments. The catch is that most published prices carry a condition, by headcount or location count, that rules out the multi-location employer Paradox is built for.

This comparison prices each alternative, then works out the cost per location for a 25-location operator, which is the buyer most likely to be holding a Paradox proposal. Every vendor figure was read on 25 October 2026 at the vendor's pricing page or at Vendr, and every derived number was computed from those. For the Paradox side in full, including cost per hire and three-year totals, see our Paradox AI pricing breakdown.

Paradox AI alternatives compared on price

Four alternatives publish a price; three are quote only like Paradox. The published ones are cheaper by an order of magnitude, but read the condition column before you budget on them.

What the alternatives cost per location at 25 sites

At 25 locations, a Breezy HR Business plan works out to $17.56 per location a month, against $100 to $267 for a mid-market Paradox contract and $249 for Hireology if its reported price is charged per location. Per location per month is the unit franchise owners actually compare, so the table converts every yearly figure to it.

Option for a 25-location operatorYearly costPer location per monthUsable at 25 locations?
Breezy HR Startup$1,884$6.28Yes, but the thinnest plan
Hireology, $249 per account$2,988$9.96Only if quoted per account
Breezy HR Business$5,268$17.56Yes
HireVue median$20,900$69.67Yes, quote
Paradox, mid-market low$30,000$100.00Yes, quote
Hireology, $249 per location$74,700$249.00Yes, quote
Paradox, mid-market high$80,000$266.67Yes, quote
Spark Hire Growth$5,988$19.96No, published price stops at 50 employees
JazzHR Pro$5,508$18.36No, multi-location businesses are excluded

Two rows at the bottom are the finding most comparison pages miss. JazzHR's footnote says its published prices do not apply to multi-location businesses or franchises, and Spark Hire's ATS prices are stated for companies with up to 50 employees. A 25-location operator would be sent to a sales quote at both. That leaves Breezy as the only published price on this list that a multi-location employer can actually check out at, and even the low end of the Paradox range is 5.7 times its Business plan.

What you give up by leaving Paradox

The difference you pay for with Paradox is that Olivia does the first conversation for you, by text, at any hour, in more than 100 languages, and books the interview without a manager touching it. Breezy, JazzHR and Workable track applicants and offer self-scheduling links, but someone still has to read each application and move it forward. At a few hundred applicants a month across your sites, that is a store manager's afternoon. At a few thousand, it is a full-time coordinator.

So run the comparison against staff time, not just license fees. If the published-price tool saves $25,000 a year but needs one more coordinator at $45,000, Paradox is cheaper. If your applicant volume is modest and managers already call back within a day, it is not. Some teams split the job: an ATS from the list above, plus a chatbot on the careers page that answers the questions applicants ask most about pay, shifts and locations before they apply.

The quote-only alternatives built for frontline hiring

Hireology and Workstream are the two alternatives closest to Paradox in what they do, and both quote per deal. Workstream describes itself as payroll and HR for multi-location restaurants, with hiring, scheduling, onboarding and payroll in one system; its pricing page shows no prices and currently offers up to eight months free on its Payroll and All-in-One plan. The free months matter only if you would switch payroll too, so price the hiring module on its own first.

Hireology is the common choice for dealer groups, home services companies and healthcare networks. The widely quoted $249 a month is reported both per account and per location, which at 25 sites is the difference between $2,988 and $74,700 a year, so ask which one your quote uses before anything else. Our Hireology pricing page works it out at different location counts.

HireVue overlaps with Paradox on volume screening and scheduling, but its center is video interviewing and assessments. Vendr's median is $20,900 a year, well under the Paradox mid-market range, which makes it a useful anchor in negotiation even if you do not buy it.

Which Paradox alternative fits your hiring

Choose by applicant volume and location count, not by feature list.

  • One location, under about 20 hires a quarter: JazzHR Hero or Breezy Startup. Paradox is built for a different buyer, and buyer guides call it overkill at this size. Our JazzHR pricing and Breezy HR pricing pages have the full plan tables.
  • Up to 50 employees, screening by video: Spark Hire's ATS at $335 a month is the one built around one-way video.
  • 5 to 50 locations, moderate volume: Breezy Business if managers can handle first contact, Hireology or Workstream if they cannot. Get both quotes per location.
  • Hundreds of locations or thousands of hires a year: Paradox earns its price here. At 20,000 hires a year even a $500,000 contract is $25 a hire, and the reported median is under $5.
  • Already on Workday HCM: price Paradox as part of the Workday renewal. Our Workday Recruiting pricing page shows how the module itself is quoted.

Remote roles do not need a frontline hiring tool

Every multi-location employer also hires people who will never work a shift in a store: central customer support, scheduling and workforce management, recruiting coordinators, payroll and HR operations. Those roles can be filled from anywhere in the US, and the candidates for them are searching remote job boards, not your local hourly postings.

A listing on our board costs $199 a month for one live remote role, or $99 a month billed yearly, and reaches readers who only want fully-remote jobs. Applications come to you directly, with no sales call and no implementation project. See remote job posting prices, or browse more employer guides and pricing pages before you sign the next ATS contract.

Quick answers

What is a cheaper alternative to Paradox?

For a single location or a small team, Breezy HR Startup at $157 a month billed yearly or JazzHR Hero at $1,000 a year cost a small fraction of Paradox's reported $1,000 a month entry point. For a multi-location operator, Breezy's flat plans are the cheapest published option, since JazzHR's published prices exclude multi-location businesses.

Is there an alternative to Paradox Olivia with text messaging?

Yes. Hireology and Workstream both sell text-based applicant communication to multi-location employers, and both are quote only. Workstream is built around restaurants and bundles payroll; Hireology is common with dealer groups, home services and healthcare networks.

Is HireVue an alternative to Paradox?

Partly. HireVue overlaps on scheduling and screening for volume hiring, but its core is video interviewing and assessments. Vendr puts the median HireVue contract at $20,900 a year, against $30,000 to $80,000 reported for mid-market Paradox deployments.

Do Paradox alternatives integrate with Workday?

Some do, but none as closely as Paradox now does, because Workday owns Paradox since 1 October 2025. If you run Workday HCM, compare any alternative against the bundled Workday quote rather than against Paradox alone.

Which Paradox alternative is best for franchises?

Hireology and Workstream are built for multi-location and franchise hiring, and both quote per deal. Breezy HR is the cheapest published option at that scale. JazzHR's published prices do not apply to franchises, so a franchise group would be sent to a sales quote there too.
