Ashby Pricing and Ashby ATS Cost for Every Foundations Band, Plus and Enterprise
Ashby publishes a price only for its Foundations plan, and it is not one number. The company-size menu on ashbyhq.com/pricing sets Foundations at $300 a month for 1 to 10 employees, $400 for 11 to 25, $500 for 26 to 50, $700 for 51 to 75 and $900 for 76 to 100, with 10% off for a yearly commitment. That is $3,240 to $9,720 a year billed yearly, for a plan that leaves out 57 of the 133 features on Ashby's own plan table, including approval workflows and custom reports. Above 100 employees you move to Plus or Enterprise, which are quoted: Vendr reports a median Ashby contract of $22,896 a year across 161 purchases. Most guides quote a flat $400, which is only the default band the page loads on. Ashby does not bring applicants by itself: a remote listing here is $199 a month, and on our Enterprise plan each applicant is created in Ashby as a candidate automatically.
Ashby is the applicant tracking system a lot of US startups pick when they outgrow spreadsheets and a basic ATS, partly because it is one of the few in its class that shows a price. The catch is that the price on its page changes with a company-size menu, and nearly every guide ranking for Ashby pricing reports only the number that loads by default.
We read the menu itself. This page lists all five Foundations bands, shows where the plan stops and the quoted tiers begin, sorts the buyer-reported numbers for Plus and Enterprise by source, and works out what three years cost for a company that keeps hiring. One disclosure first: we do not sell an ATS. We run a remote job board whose Enterprise plan sends applicants into Ashby, Greenhouse and Lever, so we have no reason to steer you away from Ashby, only an interest in what fills it.

| Greenhouse | Quote only, by plan (Core, Plus, Pro), hiring volume and complexity | None published | Median about $27,000 a year (Vendr data, 711 purchases, via RolesAt) | Structured interviewing across many hiring managers |
| Lever | Quote only, by company size and hiring needs | None published | Median $15,400 a year, range $6,714 to $51,864 (Vendr, 318 transactions) | Teams that want ATS and candidate CRM in one pipeline |
| Workable | Published, by company headcount in nine bands | Standard $299 a month billed yearly for 1 to 20 employees | Add-ons extra on Standard: texting $89, video $109, assessments $59 a month | Small companies that want to buy without a sales call |

Ashby and Workable prices were read on each company's own pricing page in October 2026. Greenhouse and Lever publish no prices, so their figures are buyer-reported and labelled with the source.

How much does Ashby cost?
Ashby costs $300 to $900 a month on its Foundations plan, depending on which of five headcount bands your company falls in, or $3,240 to $9,720 a year with the 10% yearly discount. Companies over 100 employees are quoted on Plus or Enterprise, where Vendr reports a median of $22,896 a year. These are the bands in the company-size menu on Ashby's pricing page, read on 2 October 2026.
| Company size | Billed monthly | Billed yearly (10% off) | Per year, billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 10 employees | $300 a month | $270 a month | $3,240 |
| 11 to 25 employees | $400 a month | $360 a month | $4,320 |
| 26 to 50 employees | $500 a month | $450 a month | $5,400 |
| 51 to 75 employees | $700 a month | $630 a month | $7,560 |
| 76 to 100 employees | $900 a month | $810 a month | $9,720 |
| 101 to 1,000 employees | Plus plan, quoted on company size, usage and commitment | ||
| Over 1,000 employees | Enterprise plan, quoted | ||
The $400 most guides quote is the 11 to 25 band, which is simply where the menu starts when the page loads. A 70-person company reading those guides budgets $4,800 a year, and the same menu charges it $8,400. Ashby also notes that emerging market pricing is available, which does not apply to a US company.
Ashby Foundations vs Plus vs Enterprise
Foundations is a cut-down version of the product: on Ashby's own plan table it leaves out 57 of the 133 listed features, against 8 for Plus and none for Enterprise. The core ATS, sourcing sequences, scheduling links, offers and standard dashboards are all there. What is missing is mostly the admin and control layer a company needs once several managers hire at the same time.
| Line on Ashby's plan table | Foundations | Plus | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Approval workflows for offers, jobs and openings | Not included | Included | Included |
| Custom saved reports and custom dashboards | Not included | Included, unlimited | Included, unlimited |
| Confidential jobs and openings and headcount management | Not included | Included | Included |
| SCIM directory sync and a sandbox instance | Not included | Included | Included |
| SSO | $100 a month extra | Included | Included |
| Custom permission roles | Not included | Up to 3 | Unlimited |
| AI credits (application review, fraud detection) | 1,500 a month | 2,500 per seat a year | 12,500 per seat a year |
| Candidate texting, US and Canada | 1,000 outbound messages a month | 2,000 per seat a year | 3,000 per seat a year |
| Extra text messages | $90 per 1,000 | $90 per 1,000 | $90 per 1,000 |
| Offer letter templates | 1 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Advanced Scheduling (auto-scheduler, calendar holds, interviewer training) | Not included | Paid add-on | Included |
| Workday integration and Snowflake or S3 data sharing | Not included | Not included | Included |
| AI Notetaker | Paid add-on | Paid add-on | Paid add-on |
Three lines decide most purchases. If finance wants every offer approved in the system, Foundations cannot do it, so you are buying Plus whatever your headcount. SSO is $100 a month on top, so the 11 to 25 band really costs $500 a month, not $400, if your security policy requires single sign-on. And the AI Notetaker is an add-on on every plan with no published price, so get it quoted before you compare Ashby with Greenhouse, whose Core plan includes a notetaker.
What Ashby costs over three years for a growing company
A company that grows from 20 to 60 employees over three years pays about $17,280 for Ashby Foundations billed yearly, or $20,880 with SSO, because each band it crosses raises the price. A company that crosses 100 employees leaves the published price list entirely. Ashby prices on total headcount, not recruiter seats, so hiring is what makes the bill grow.
| Scenario, billed yearly | Year 1 | Year 2 | Year 3 | Three-year total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stays at 11 to 25 employees | $4,320 | $4,320 | $4,320 | $12,960 |
| Grows 20 to 40 to 60 employees | $4,320 | $5,400 | $7,560 | $17,280 |
| Same growth, plus SSO at $100 a month | $5,520 | $6,600 | $8,760 | $20,880 |
| Grows 60 to 90 to 120 employees | $7,560 | $9,720 | Plus, quoted | $17,280 plus the Plus quote |
| Starts at the Vendr median, 5% yearly increase | $22,896 | $24,041 | $25,243 | $72,180 |
| Starts at the Vendr median, 10% yearly increase | $22,896 | $25,186 | $27,704 | $75,786 |
The Foundations rows use the published bands. The quoted rows use Vendr's median and the 5 to 10% yearly increases Vendr reports for Ashby contracts. The fourth row is the one to plan for if you expect to pass 100 employees: Vendr puts companies of 50 to 150 employees at $20,000 to $50,000 a year, against $9,720 for the last Foundations band, so the step from Foundations to Plus can double or triple the bill in a single renewal. Ask for the Plus price in writing before you sign Foundations if you are already near 100.

Ashby vs Greenhouse vs Lever pricing
For a company under 100 employees, Ashby is usually the cheapest of the three because it is the only one with a published price, at $3,240 to $9,720 a year. Above 100 employees the gap closes: buyers report medians of $22,896 for Ashby, about $27,000 for Greenhouse and $15,400 for Lever.
The medians come from different samples and different company mixes, so treat them as rough. What is solid is the structure. Ashby shows its small-company price; Greenhouse and Lever do not show any price. Greenhouse renamed its plans to Core, Plus and Pro in early 2026, and our Greenhouse pricing page sorts its buyer-reported numbers by source. Lever is quote-only, and its parent company also sells a cheaper ATS with published prices, which our Lever pricing breakdown covers. If you want a published price with no sales call at all, Workable pricing starts at $299 a month for 1 to 20 employees, which is close to Ashby's $300 band for 1 to 10. Cheaper still are JazzHR pricing, one flat price per plan from $1,000 a year, and Zoho Recruit pricing at $25 per recruiter a month.
Price is rarely the deciding factor between these three. Ashby's case is that sourcing, CRM, scheduling and analytics are one product, so you are not buying a scheduling tool and a reporting tool on top. If you would otherwise pay for those separately, the comparison is Ashby against the stack, not Ashby against an ATS alone.
How to get a lower Ashby quote
On Foundations the only discount is the 10% for a yearly commitment. On Plus and Enterprise, Vendr reports buyers save about 21% on average, mostly through competing quotes, longer terms and timing.
1. Pick the right band before you talk to anyone. Count employees the way your contract will, and check whether you will cross a band within the term. A move from 50 to 51 employees raises Foundations from $500 to $700 a month.
2. Take the yearly discount only if the headcount is stable. It saves $360 to $1,080 a year across the bands, which is real money, but it is a commitment.
3. Bring a competing quote to a Plus negotiation. A Greenhouse or Lever quote, or Workable's published Premier price, gives the rep a reason to move.
4. Get the add-ons priced at the same time. AI Notetaker, Advanced Scheduling and extra email lookups have no published prices. Agree them in the same contract rather than after go-live, when you have less leverage.
5. Ask for a written renewal cap. Vendr reports 5 to 10% yearly increases on Ashby contracts, and SpendHound measured SMB prices up 19% year over year across 112 customers. A cap in the order form is the only protection.
Is Ashby worth it for a startup?
For a startup that hires steadily and wants sourcing, scheduling and reporting without buying three tools, Ashby Foundations at $3,240 to $9,720 a year is fairly priced, and cheaper than most quoted alternatives. For a company that hires two or three people a year, it is more system than the job needs.
Signals for Ashby: several roles open at once, hiring managers who want to see their own pipeline, outbound sourcing as part of how you hire, and an interest in funnel data. Signals against: one person does all the hiring, roles are similar, and the real bottleneck is getting enough good applicants, which no ATS solves.
That last point is where remote hiring differs. A fully-remote role can draw several times the applicants of an on-site one, as our numbers on how many applicants a job posting gets show, so screening tools earn more of their price. If you are hiring in other states, read hiring remote employees in another state too, because payroll registration shapes the process as much as the software does.
How to get remote applicants into Ashby
Post the role where remote candidates look, then let each application arrive in Ashby as a candidate. A listing here costs $199 a month for one live remote role, with the salary range shown at the top and applicants delivered as they apply.
On our Enterprise plan, every application is created in your Ashby account through Ashby's candidate.create API under your own API key, with the candidate's name, email and link, and LatestRemote set as the source so your Ashby source reports count them correctly. The same connection works for Greenhouse and Lever. If Ashby rejects or does not answer a delivery, it is marked as failed, you get an email, and the applicant stays in your dashboard, so nobody is lost between systems. Teams on Starter or Growth get the same applicants by email and in the dashboard. For what other boards charge for the same reach, see our remote job posting sites comparison.
Questions buyers ask about Ashby pricing
- How much does Ashby cost per month?
- On the Foundations plan, Ashby costs $300 a month for 1 to 10 employees, $400 for 11 to 25, $500 for 26 to 50, $700 for 51 to 75 and $900 for 76 to 100, billed monthly. A yearly commitment takes 10% off, so $270 to $810 a month. Companies over 100 employees are quoted on Plus or Enterprise.
- Does Ashby have a free plan or free trial?
- No free plan is listed on Ashby's pricing page, and buyers on G2 report no free trial. The cheapest way in is Foundations at $300 a month for companies with 1 to 10 employees, billed monthly, which you can cancel more easily than a yearly commitment if the tool does not fit.
- Is Ashby priced per seat or per employee?
- Per employee. Ashby prices on your total company headcount, not on how many recruiters or hiring managers log in. That makes it cheap for a small company with many interviewers, and it means the bill rises as the company grows even if the recruiting team stays the same size.
- How much is Ashby SSO?
- On Foundations, single sign-on is listed at $100 a month on top of the plan price. It is included on Plus and Enterprise. For a 20-person company that needs SSO, Foundations is effectively $500 a month billed monthly rather than $400, so include it before comparing Ashby with other quotes.
- Is Ashby cheaper than Greenhouse?
- Usually, below 100 employees. Ashby Foundations is published at $3,240 to $9,720 a year billed yearly, while Greenhouse contracts are reported from about $5,100 a year at the low end to a $27,000 median, plus implementation. Above 100 employees both are quoted, and Vendr's median for Ashby is $22,896 a year.
- Can job board applicants go straight into Ashby?
- Yes, when the board connects through Ashby's API. On our Enterprise plan each application to your remote role is created in Ashby as a candidate under your own API key, with LatestRemote as the source. The same connection works for Greenhouse and Lever. If a delivery fails you are emailed and the applicant stays in your dashboard.
