Greenhouse Pricing and Greenhouse ATS Pricing for the Core, Plus and Pro Plans
Greenhouse does not publish prices. Its pricing page lists three plans, Core, Plus and Pro, and says each one is quoted on the plan you choose, your hiring volume and how complex your organization is. Buyer data fills the gap: RolesAt, citing 711 verified Greenhouse purchases in Vendr's dataset, puts the median contract at about $27,000 a year, with a range of $10,627 to $75,900 and small teams starting around $5,100 to $6,000 a year on Core. Add a one-time implementation fee of roughly $2,000 to $8,000 and a yearly renewal increase unless you negotiate a cap. Greenhouse renamed its plans in early 2026, so any quote or guide that says Essential, Advanced or Expert describes the old lineup. The ATS does not bring applicants by itself: a remote listing here is $199 a month, and on our Enterprise plan every applicant is created in Greenhouse automatically.
Greenhouse is the applicant tracking system most growing US companies end up evaluating, and its price is the one thing its website will not tell you. The pricing page describes three plans and then sends you to a demo. That is why searches for Greenhouse pricing land on a page of vendor blogs, each quoting a different number.
This page sorts those numbers by where they come from, shows what the current plans actually contain (the names changed this year, and most guides have not caught up), and works out what a contract costs over three years once implementation and renewal increases are included. One disclosure first: we do not sell an ATS. We run a remote job board whose Enterprise plan sends applicants into Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby, so we have no reason to talk you out of Greenhouse, only an interest in what fills it.
Greenhouse against the other applicant tracking systems US teams price
| Applicant tracking system | How the price is set | Published entry price | What buyers report | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Greenhouse | Quote only, by plan (Core, Plus, Pro), hiring volume and how complex the organization is | None published | Median about $27,000 a year, range $10,627 to $75,900 (Vendr data, 711 purchases, via RolesAt), plus $2,000 to $8,000 implementation | Structured interviewing across several departments and many hiring managers |
| Workable | Published, by company headcount in nine bands | Standard $299 a month billed yearly for 1 to 20 employees ($3,588 a year); Premier $599; Enterprise $719 | Standard add-ons extra: texting $89, video interviews $109, assessments $59 a month | Small companies that want to buy without a sales call |
| Ashby | Five headcount bands up to 100 employees, quote above that, 10% off for a yearly commitment | $300 a month for 1 to 10 employees, up to $900 for 76 to 100 | Median $22,896 a year above the published bands (Vendr, 161 purchases) | Startups that want ATS, CRM, scheduling and analytics in one product |
| Lever | Quote only | None published | Median $15,400 a year, range $6,714 to $51,864 (Vendr, 318 transactions) | Teams that want ATS and candidate CRM in a single pipeline |
| LatestRemote (our board, not an ATS) | Flat monthly price, bought on the site | $199 a month for one live remote listing; Growth $649 for five | Enterprise $298 a seat a month from 10 seats ($149 billed yearly), includes the Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby connection | Filling the pipeline with people who want fully-remote work |
Greenhouse and Workable plan details were read on each company's own pricing page in October 2026. Greenhouse and Lever publish no prices, so their figures are buyer-reported and labelled with the source. Ashby's figures were read from the company-size menu on its own pricing page.

How much does Greenhouse cost?
Greenhouse costs about $27,000 a year at the median, according to 711 verified purchases in Vendr's dataset as summarized by RolesAt, with contracts from roughly $10,600 to $75,900 a year and small teams starting near $5,100 to $6,000 on Core. Greenhouse itself publishes no figure. Its pricing FAQ says the cost depends on the plan you choose, your hiring volume and organizational complexity, and the features your workflows need.
Because every number in circulation is second-hand, the useful thing is to know which kind of number you are reading.
| Source | What it reports | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Greenhouse pricing page | No price. Three plans, Core, Plus and Pro, quoted after a demo | Greenhouse's own site, read October 2026 |
| RolesAt, citing Vendr | Median about $27,000 a year; range $10,627 to $75,900; Core from about $5,100 to $6,000 | 711 verified buyer contracts |
| RolesAt, citing Vendr | Implementation $2,000 to $8,000 one-time; about 16% off the first quote after negotiation | Same dataset |
| Vendr | Price escalation clauses of typically 3 to 7% a year; multi-year terms unlock 10 to 25% discounts | Vendr's Greenhouse buyer guide |
| Leonstaff | Entry tier from about $6,500 a year | Published guide, figure not tied to a stated sample |
Read the median carefully. It is pulled up by companies with hundreds of employees, because Greenhouse pricing follows company size and hiring volume rather than the number of recruiters. A 40-person company hiring ten people a year should expect a quote near the bottom of the range, not near $27,000.
Greenhouse Core, Plus and Pro and what replaced Essential, Advanced and Expert
Greenhouse sells three plans today, Core, Plus and Pro, each building on the one below it. They replaced the Essential, Advanced and Expert names. Archived copies of greenhouse.com/pricing still show the old names on 11 January 2026 and the new ones by 14 February 2026, yet most pricing guides and buyer benchmarks, including Vendr's own Greenhouse page, still describe Essential and Expert contracts.
| Plan | Greenhouse describes it as | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Core | Bring structure to hiring | Sourcing and CRM, structured interview kits and scorecards, AI Notetaker, scheduling, reporting and analytics, SSO, Talent Matching |
| Plus | Optimize your operation | AI-powered report filters, a Business Intelligence connector, Greenhouse Sourcing Automation, texting, fraud and spam detection |
| Pro | Manage hiring complexity | Unlimited CRM events, enterprise data configuration and security, audit log, developer sandbox and sync |
The rename matters for two reasons when you are holding a quote. First, a benchmark labelled Essential or Expert is at least as old as the rename, so it may not reflect current list prices. Second, features moved between tiers are where quotes quietly grow. Texting and Sourcing Automation sit in Plus, and the audit log sits in Pro. If your security review requires an audit log, you are buying Pro, whatever plan the first call suggests. Ask the rep to confirm, in writing, which plan each must-have feature lives in before you compare numbers.
What a Greenhouse contract costs over three years
Over three years, a small company starting at $6,000 a year on Core should budget roughly $21,000 to $29,000 once implementation and renewal increases are included, and a company paying the $27,000 median should budget roughly $89,000 to $102,000. The first-year price is the smallest number in the deal.
| Scenario | Year 1 | Year 2 | Year 3 | Subscription total | Plus implementation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core at $6,000, 7% yearly increase | $6,000 | $6,420 | $6,869 | $19,289 | $21,289 to $27,289 |
| Core at $6,000, 15% yearly increase | $6,000 | $6,900 | $7,935 | $20,835 | $22,835 to $28,835 |
| Median $27,000, 7% yearly increase | $27,000 | $28,890 | $30,912 | $86,802 | $88,802 to $94,802 |
| Median $27,000, 15% yearly increase | $27,000 | $31,050 | $35,708 | $93,758 | $95,758 to $101,758 |
| Median $27,000, three-year term at 10% off, rate held | $24,300 | $24,300 | $24,300 | $72,900 | $74,900 to $80,900 |
The increase rates come from the sources above: Vendr reports escalation clauses of 3 to 7% a year in signed contracts, and RolesAt reports 7 to 15% at renewal when nobody renegotiates. Implementation is the $2,000 to $8,000 range RolesAt reports. The last row is the lever most buyers miss: at the median, a three-year term with the rate held saves about $13,900 against a 7% yearly uplift. The price of that saving is flexibility, because you are committed for three years whatever happens to your hiring plan.

Costs that are not in the Greenhouse quote
The quote covers the software. Three other costs usually arrive with it: implementation, growth in headcount, and the job advertising that fills the pipeline.
Implementation. Vendr notes that Greenhouse charges separately for onboarding, data migration, training and configuration, from a few thousand dollars for small deployments to five figures for complex ones. It is negotiable, especially on multi-year deals, so ask for it to be reduced or waived rather than accepting it as fixed.
Headcount. Pricing tracks company size and hiring volume. A company that doubles in two years will see that at renewal even if the recruiting team stays the same size. Check whether the contract re-prices on headcount at renewal or mid-term, and what happens if you shrink.
Job advertising. Greenhouse publishes your jobs to your careers page and connects to job boards, but paid and sponsored placements are bought from the boards themselves. An ATS organizes applicants. It does not create them. Budget for the listings separately, and see what each board charges on our remote job posting sites comparison. For a sense of the volume a remote role brings in, our figures on how many applicants a job posting gets show why remote postings make screening tools worth more.
How to get a lower Greenhouse quote
The most reliable discounts on Greenhouse come from a competing quote, a multi-year term and buying near a fiscal quarter end. RolesAt reports that negotiation typically takes about 16% off the first quote.
1. Get a published price to anchor against. Workable lists its prices: Standard is $299 a month billed yearly for companies with 1 to 20 employees, and Premier is $599. Our Workable pricing breakdown works out what each plan really costs with add-ons. Bring that number to the Greenhouse call, along with the Ashby pricing for your headcount band and a Lever pricing benchmark.
2. Time the signature. Vendr says sales teams have more room near fiscal quarter ends in March, June, September and December.
3. Trade term length for a held rate. If you are confident you will still be hiring in three years, ask for the multi-year discount and a rate that does not rise within the term. If you are not, sign for one year and negotiate a written cap on the renewal increase instead.
4. Buy the plan your must-have features need, no higher. Map each requirement to Core, Plus or Pro on Greenhouse's own plan list before the call, so the rep cannot round you up a tier.
5. Negotiate implementation separately. It is a one-time fee with more give in it than the subscription.
Is Greenhouse worth it for a small company?
For a company under about 50 employees hiring a handful of people a year, Greenhouse is usually more system than the job needs, and a published-price ATS such as Workable Standard at $3,588 a year covers it. Greenhouse earns its price when many hiring managers across several departments need the same structured process, scorecards and reporting.
The signals that point to Greenhouse: you run more than one interview loop at a time, hiring managers outside HR make decisions, you need EEOC data handling and an audit trail, or you plan to grow headcount fast enough that a cheaper tool would be replaced within two years. The signals against: one person does all the recruiting, roles are similar to each other, and the real bottleneck is getting enough good applicants, which no ATS solves.
That last point is where remote hiring differs. A fully-remote role can draw several times the applicants of an on-site one, so the work shifts from finding people to sorting them. If you are hiring across states, read hiring remote employees in another state before you pick a tool, because payroll registration and state law will shape your process as much as the ATS does.
How to get remote applicants into Greenhouse
Post the role where remote candidates look, then let the applications land in Greenhouse as candidates. A listing here costs $199 a month for one live remote role, with the salary range shown at the top and applicants delivered to you as they apply.
On our Enterprise plan, every application is created in your Greenhouse account as a candidate through Greenhouse's Harvest API, under your own API key and on behalf of the Greenhouse user you choose. The same connection works for Lever and Ashby. If Greenhouse rejects or does not answer a delivery, the application is marked as failed, you get an email about it, and the applicant stays in your dashboard, so nobody is lost between systems. Smaller teams on Starter or Growth get the same applicants by email and in the dashboard, ready to add to any ATS.
Questions buyers ask about Greenhouse pricing
- How much does Greenhouse cost per year?
- Greenhouse publishes no price. Buyer data from 711 verified purchases in Vendr's dataset, cited by RolesAt, puts the median at about $27,000 a year, with contracts from roughly $10,600 to $75,900. Small teams on Core report starting around $5,100 to $6,000 a year, before a one-time implementation fee of about $2,000 to $8,000.
- Does Greenhouse publish its pricing?
- No. The Greenhouse pricing page lists the Core, Plus and Pro plans and what each includes, then routes you to a demo for a custom quote. Greenhouse says the price depends on the plan, your hiring volume and how complex your organization is, so two companies on the same plan can pay very different amounts.
- What is the difference between Greenhouse Core, Plus and Pro?
- Core covers sourcing and CRM, structured interview kits, scheduling, reporting and SSO. Plus adds Sourcing Automation, texting, a BI connector, AI report filters and fraud and spam detection. Pro adds unlimited CRM events, enterprise data security, an audit log and a developer sandbox. The three plans replaced Essential, Advanced and Expert in early 2026.
- How much is Greenhouse implementation?
- Buyers report a one-time fee of about $2,000 to $8,000 for most small and midsize teams, covering data import, workflow setup and training. Vendr notes complex enterprise deployments can reach five figures. The fee is separate from the subscription and is one of the easier lines to negotiate down, especially on a multi-year contract.
- Is Workable cheaper than Greenhouse?
- Usually, for small companies. Workable publishes its prices: Standard is $299 a month billed yearly for 1 to 20 employees, or $3,588 a year, and Premier is $599 a month. Greenhouse contracts are reported from about $5,100 a year at the low end to a $27,000 median, plus implementation, so the gap widens as you grow.
- Can job board applicants go straight into Greenhouse?
- Yes, when the board integrates through Greenhouse's API. On our Enterprise plan each application to your remote role is created in Greenhouse as a candidate under your own API key, with the same connection available for Lever and Ashby. If a delivery fails you are emailed and the applicant stays in your dashboard.
