Glassdoor Alternatives for Employers to Post Jobs and Build Your Employer Brand

Glassdoor no longer sells job postings. Glassdoor LLC merged into Indeed, Inc. on 1 July 2026, its employer pricing and job-slots pages return 404, and a paid Indeed listing is now the only way onto Glassdoor. So a Glassdoor alternative is really two decisions. To advertise a role without paying Indeed's auction, the main options are LinkedIn (one free post, then about $7 to $10 a day promoted), ZipRecruiter (about $556 a month per paying employer on its SEC filings), Wellfound and Built In (basic posts at no cost), and remote-only boards at $199 to $299 a month. To replace Glassdoor as an employer-brand and reviews site, the free options are an Indeed Company Page and a Comparably profile, with Built In premium partnerships sold on quote.

Most employers searching for a Glassdoor alternative are not unhappy with Glassdoor. They are looking because the thing they used to buy has gone. Glassdoor's employer pricing page, its products page and its job-slots page all return 404, and the part of Glassdoor that still sells to employers is employer branding, on quote.

That splits the question in two. If you want applicants, you need a place to post that does not route every dollar through Indeed. If you want the reputation work Glassdoor did (reviews, a company page, a reason for a candidate to trust you before applying), you need a different kind of site. This page prices both, from each company's own pricing page or SEC filing wherever one exists, and says where Glassdoor itself still wins.

Seven Glassdoor alternatives for employers, and what each one costs

Glassdoor alternative What it replaces Where Glassdoor still wins Published price Pick it if
Indeed Sponsored Jobs The listing itself, since paid Indeed posts also appear on Glassdoor Nothing, it is the same inventory now $5 a day or $150 a month minimum; $25 a day per role through an ATS feed You want Glassdoor visibility and accept a pay per click auction
LinkedIn Jobs Job advertising to a professional audience with its own company pages Anonymous reviews, which LinkedIn does not carry One free active post, pauses at 14 days; promoted posts reported at $7 to $10 a day minimum Your candidates are white-collar and already on LinkedIn
ZipRecruiter Broad distribution plus matching that invites candidates to apply Brand research by candidates before applying No rate card; SEC filings show about $556 a month per paying employer You hire in volume across many US locations
Wellfound Startup job posting and a company profile aimed at tech candidates Reach outside software and early-stage roles Job posts $0; job ads from $200 each You are a startup hiring engineers, product or early go-to-market
Built In Tech job posting plus an employer profile and branded content Coverage outside technology roles Basic job post at no additional cost; Premium Partnership on quote You hire tech talent and want a brand page built for it
Comparably Culture ratings, compensation data and employer awards Review volume for most companies Free employer profile; premium on quote You want a second ratings site that candidates also read
LatestRemote (our board) The listing, for fully-remote roles, with the salary range shown on every post Company reviews, which a job board does not host $199 a month for one live listing, cancel any time, no fee on the hire The role is fully remote and you want a fixed monthly cost

Checked September 2026. Glassdoor status re-read on glassdoor.com. Built In, Wellfound, We Work Remotely and Remotive prices were read on those companies' own pages; ZipRecruiter's figure is revenue per paying employer from its Q2 2026 SEC filing; LinkedIn publishes no rate card, so its promoted-job figures are what US employers report.

Why employers look for Glassdoor alternatives in 2026

Employers look for Glassdoor alternatives because Glassdoor stopped selling job postings and now sends every employer to Indeed to post. Glassdoor LLC merged into Indeed, Inc. on 1 July 2026. Both had shared a parent, Recruit Holdings, since 2018, but until the merger Glassdoor ran its own employer products. It no longer does.

We checked the employer side of glassdoor.com on 21 September 2026 and again on 30 September. The pricing page, the products page and the job-slots product page all return 404. The post-job page tells employers to get started with Indeed, and says that jobs you pay to post on Indeed will also appear on Glassdoor. The employer home page now sells one thing: employer branding, meaning an enhanced company profile, review responses and brand analytics, with no published price.

That has three practical effects on a hiring budget.

  • A Glassdoor listing is an Indeed auction. The cheapest reliable route onto Glassdoor is Indeed's Sponsored minimum of $5 a day or $150 a month, and employers commonly report $15 to $50 per application once a role is competing for clicks.
  • Old media plans are wrong. If an agency plan or an internal budget still carries a Glassdoor job-slots line, there is no product behind it.
  • Reviews did not move. Glassdoor keeps its brand, site and anonymous reviews, so candidates will still read your page there whatever you do about posting.

So the useful question is not "what replaces Glassdoor", because nothing replaces all of it. It is "which part of Glassdoor was I paying for, and who does that part better or cheaper now".

What is the best alternative to Glassdoor for posting jobs?

For posting jobs, the best Glassdoor alternative depends on the role: LinkedIn for white-collar hires, ZipRecruiter for high-volume hiring across many US locations, Wellfound or Built In for tech roles at no posting cost, and a remote-only board for fully-remote roles at a fixed monthly price. If your only goal is to appear on Glassdoor itself, the answer is Indeed Sponsored Jobs, because that is now the same inventory.

The biggest difference between these options is not the headline price. It is whether the price is fixed or moves with competition.

Posting routePricing modelEntry costCost of a 60 day search
Indeed Sponsored JobsPay per click auction$150 a month$300 minimum, often more on competitive roles
LinkedIn promoted jobPay per click auctionAbout $7 to $10 a day reportedRoughly $420 to $600 at the reported minimum
ZipRecruiterQuoted subscriptionNo rate cardAbout $1,112 at the $556 a month average
Wellfound job postFree, paid ads optional$0$0, or $200 per ad for extra reach
Built In job postFree basic post$0$0 for a basic post
We Work RemotelyFlat, per 30 days$299$598
LatestRemoteFlat monthly$199$398

Two notes keep that table honest. The free rows are free because they are narrow: Wellfound and Built In reach technology and startup candidates well and almost nobody else. And the auction rows have no ceiling. A $150 minimum is a floor, not a forecast, and an employer hiring a popular remote role against dozens of others will usually spend past it.

What are the best Glassdoor alternatives for employer branding?

The main Glassdoor alternatives for employer branding are an Indeed Company Page and a LinkedIn company page (both free), Comparably (free employer profile, premium on quote), and Built In Premium Partnership for tech employers (quote only). None of them has Glassdoor's volume of anonymous reviews, which is the one thing Glassdoor still does better than anyone.

Our advice for a small or mid-sized US employer is to spend nothing here before you have spent an afternoon. Claim the free Glassdoor employer account, respond to your last ten reviews in a calm, specific voice, and fill in benefits and remote policy. Then do the same on Indeed. Paid branding makes sense once candidates already search for your company by name, and not before.

Is Glassdoor still worth it for employers?

Glassdoor is still worth a free employer account for almost every company, because candidates read your reviews there before they apply. It is no longer worth budgeting as a job-posting channel, because it does not sell one. Whether paid Glassdoor employer branding is worth it depends on whether your company page gets real traffic.

A quick way to decide: search your company name plus "reviews" and see where Glassdoor lands. If your Glassdoor page is the first or second result, candidates are reading it and a paid profile is buying you control over something that already matters. If it barely ranks, a paid package is buying a page nobody visits, and the money does more as a listing.

Remember what the review page is doing in the funnel. It does not create applicants. It converts or loses the ones you already attracted. A strong remote listing with a real salary range brings the candidate. Your reviews decide whether that candidate trusts the offer. Spend on the first before the second.

Are Glassdoor and Indeed the same company now?

Yes. Glassdoor LLC merged into Indeed, Inc. on 1 July 2026, and employer job posting for both now runs through Indeed. Glassdoor keeps its own brand, website and anonymous reviews, but it operates under Indeed's terms of use and privacy policy.

This matters for any plan that treats Glassdoor and Indeed as two channels. They are one channel with two front doors. Posting the same role "on both" buys one auction position, not two, and a comparison spreadsheet that lists them as separate rows is double counting. If diversification is the goal, the second channel has to be someone who is not Recruit Holdings: LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, a niche tech site, or a remote-only board. The detail on what a Glassdoor-visible listing costs is on our Glassdoor job posting cost page.

Questions employers ask about Glassdoor alternatives

What is a good alternative to Glassdoor for employers?
For posting jobs, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, Wellfound, Built In and remote-only boards are the main alternatives, because Glassdoor now only lists jobs paid for on Indeed. For employer branding, a free Indeed Company Page, a LinkedIn company page and a Comparably profile cover most of what Glassdoor's paid branding does.
Can employers still post jobs on Glassdoor?
Not directly. Glassdoor merged into Indeed on 1 July 2026, and its employer pricing and job-slots pages return 404. Glassdoor states that jobs you pay to post on Indeed also appear on Glassdoor, so a paid Indeed Sponsored Job, from $5 a day or $150 a month, is the route onto Glassdoor now.
Is there a free alternative to Glassdoor for posting jobs?
Yes, with limits. Wellfound and Built In both offer basic job posts at no cost, aimed at tech and startup candidates. LinkedIn allows one free active post, which pauses after 14 days. Indeed allows three free posts a month, but Glassdoor only promises placement for paid Indeed jobs.
What is the Indeed equivalent of Glassdoor for reviews?
Indeed Company Pages. They show ratings, employee reviews and your open jobs together, and they are free to claim. Since the 2026 merger both sites belong to Indeed, Inc., but reviews are still collected and shown separately, so it is worth responding on both.
Does Comparably replace Glassdoor?
Partly. Comparably, owned by ZoomInfo, publishes culture scores, compensation data and annual employer awards, and offers a free employer profile. It has far fewer reviews per company than Glassdoor, so most employers use it as a second ratings source rather than a replacement.
Where should I post a remote job instead of Glassdoor?
On a remote-only board, where every reader is looking for remote work. Prices checked in September 2026 run from $199 a month on LatestRemote to $299 on We Work Remotely (30 days) and Remotive (one month), all flat fees rather than auctions, so you know the cost before the role goes live.

No auction, no branding contract, no fee on the hire. One remote listing, $199 a month.

$199 a month per listing, salary shown, verified employer badge, applicants straight to your inbox. No agency commission on the hire.
